The Absanie Community Choir is a part of:

Rev. Carlton J. Staton is currently serving as the pastor of the Ninth Street Baptist Church.  He helped found the Absanie Community Choir in 1985 along with Professor Angela Pynne.  He served as the president of the choir from 1985 until 1990 when he was appointed as the pastor of the Ninth Street Baptist Church.

He is a talented musician and songwriter.  He still writes for the choir.

He is married to Heather Staton. They have three sons, Michael, Carl, and Tym. All three of Rev. Staton's sons sing in the choir.
